So what's cracking in 2010?...Once again it's time to prepare ourselves for the Lanka Challenge. We've worked very hard on updating our website, which we hope you like and appreciate, but most importantly we've worked really hard behind the scenes thinking on ways to improve what we achieved last year. Well, we're extremely glad to inform you that this year we'll be visiting the East Coast. And man, it's really worth checking out! I've always thought that the spicy island is very contrasting and diverse, but the East Coast just seems like a different country altogether. I wouldn't say that it's better, but it's "different" and we all know that different = interesting. We also decided to add one more day to the Challenge, not only to ensure that we can cover more ground, but also so we can chill in Arugambay (the East Coast's best kept secret) after 4 days of driving. Anyways, you can let us know what you think once we finally meet - and trust me, both Julian and I are really looking forward to meeting the new batch of people that "really care". Oh btw, we're also hoping that you can meet Robs, our latest addition to the LC team. She was actually a participant last year - although we most certainly didn't invite her to join us because of her driving skills - she's a real liability when it comes that :) ...anyway she's kinda M.I.A and we sorta need her right now, so if you recognize her and know of her whereabouts do let us know...
As we prepare for the next Challenge, we're looking for ways to improve our social and ecological initiatives. And those of you who decide to join us will most definitively experience and contribute towards a good cause (s) and witness it first hand. It's also going to be very rewarding to incorporate the Tamil speaking areas in this edition of the Lanka Challenge. Now I guess it's time for me to ask you where you'll be next August / September and most importantly what you'll be up to... Will you be glued to your cubicle counting the milliseconds go by, feeling unloved and over-worked? Or perhaps stuck in traffic at Urban Brick City, thinking of those long-gone adventurous days back when (rumor has it) you even carried a different name? Or maybe you will be fast asleep cuddling your piggy bank whilst trying to overcome the recession-obsession syndrome? Come on - wake up, take a new step towards your personal freedom. Sort yourself out - get set and make it count! Pack your gear, write your will, pick up a copy of "auto-rickshaws for dummies", kiss Droopy goodbye and get your over excited arse to the spicy island. It is time to become the generation of sharers, givers, and saviors! If you are still unsure on whether to join us in paradise - just have a look at what we did last time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FXRy3JsAHc If you want to get in touch with us just drop us a line on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
